The challenge
Trident Group is a network of expert consultants shaping the future of the water industry technical project managers, hydraulics specialists and AI engineers, led by four partners and seven directors with deep roots in the UK and global water sectors.
Trident was growing faster than its identity. New divisions were forming hydraulics, intelligent solutions, resources and international entities were launching in Canada and New Zealand. Each needed its own presence, but a water utility procuring a critical infrastructure partner needs to see one credible, established group, not a scatter of disconnected names.
The brief: an identity that works as a system, not a logo strong enough to carry a group of companies, flexible enough that every division and territory stands on its own, and technical enough to feel at home in front of engineers.
One brand system
We built one system to carry every Trident business a master trident mark, Six division lockups, guidelines, brochures and launch assets, all drawn from a single architecture. The spreads scrolling here are the real brand guidelines the group runs on today.

The approach
A trident drawn in circuit pathways
The mark fuses the group's name with what they actually do: the trident's tines are drawn as circuit-board traces with sharp, faceted edges engineering precision and digital intelligence in one symbol. It reads at billboard scale and at 16 pixels.
Architecture through colour and lockup
A sub-text system under the master mark creates a lockup for each business Trident Group, Hydraulic & Transient Solutions, Intelligent Solutions, Internationalwhile an alternating palette keyed to water and technology (aqua, earth blue, sea green on off-black) lets each division be distinct without breaking the family. One glance says “different specialism”a second glance says “same group”.
A type system built for technical documents
Montserrat throughout, with a deliberate kerning system wide-tracked display for confidence at headline scale, tightened body text for the dense, readable technical documents the water sector runs on.
